How to get your Vids onto you your computor NO downloading or Cap Card required!
AS ORIGINALLY POSTED BY HoEzCaLLMeFLY (http://www.forum.progamingleague.ca/member.php?u=13)

How its done:

Things you need:

1. A Media Center Computer ( A computer with a TV tuner card with AV input)
2. This programDScaler
3. A Screen Capture program (I recommend Fraps, its free and easy to use and its SAFE!)
4. Lots of Hard Drive Space (250+ GB recommended)
5. A good processor (Core 2 Duo Recommended)
6. A Good Graphics card recommended but i don't think it makes a huge difference.

Steps:
1. Connect your Av or S video cables from you Xbox to you computer.
2. Download and install DScaler
3. In DScaler, click "Sources", then choose your tuner.
4. Click "Dshow > Video Input" and choose your input.
5. Click "Sources > Define as initial source".
6. Open up fraps.

Notes:

Ok once you finish those steps your should see your Xbox (If started up) Dashboard. Now usually when fraps is used on programs it will show the FPS in top right corner but on DScaler it doesn't but aslong as you make DScaler Full Screen, fraps will still record the footage. Now all you have to do is open up your film in theater and play it through. Now remember the Unregistered version of fraps can only capture 30s clips so ide recommend picking the clip you want to capture first. The good thing about fraps is you can capture as many 30s clips as you like. Once you have captured your video you now need to find it. This is easy, all you have to do is open fraps and click the Movie tab, then click view. Your vid should be there (Probably named Dscaler "add date / time here") Ok you may notice its freaking huge. We can fix that. all you need to do is open an Encoder (I used Windows movie maker) Windows movie maker is a good encoder + Editor. Now edit your video how you like then publish to your comp and your done! Wala a complete Halo 3 video no downloading or spending any amount of money.

NOTE: if your comp doesn't meet the specs don't go spend $$ just to do this, wait for Geevee to come back online.

Ide like to thank nickgailloux for giving me half this information and inspiring me to convert it to use for Halo 3 or any other game for that matter.

tv tuner card = capture card :P

you can buy huppauge cap cards for 30 bucks.

i reccomend either asus cap card or dazzle, its worth spending the extra money, because fraps is pretty brutal.

cap using virtualdub, free @ sourceforge.net. either cap as uncompressed avi or as high quality lossless xvid.

i actually have a dazzle 650 that i don't use anymore if anyone wants/needs it

GeeVee takes 10 years for 1 clip.

and it's not the greatest quality either. I'm sure most people know someone with a capture card so i'd say the easiest way is to just get them to capture your clips.
