Hey guys do you have any suggestions on how to make this PGL bigger.... we are getting a decent amount of people in but of course we would like more.... the next one is in Winnipeg so getting surrounding towns and cities would be key

This league is really Canadas only competitive gaming league and I know for a fact that everyone wants to see it get bigger and bigger so lets make this thing grow together........... any ideas or suggestions would be great.....

advertize alot, pay the ammount that is supose to be paid out. understad cost alot to put togather but for people to travel they want to know 100% when they are getting for the win. not the last minute decsion.
insert all word spreading ideas here............ also i really like peoples comments on what to do better........ remember guys this is a league made for you gamers...... so basically if there is a conscensus we will change it for you guys

yes we are fixing this............. we talked to a lot of the gamers and are going to be bumping up entry fee and making 4v4 a lot bigger of a payout to bring in people........ thanks beastly two
this first season will really attract attention. some of those other cities are big so word of mouth might not exactly cut it. however, if you get a hold of the big names in these cities like i have no idea whose good in winnepeg, but if you did they could get the big names out, i think thats kind of what happened in Regina. If you want to hit the main stream id say the news would be your best bet or an advertisement on tv, like noone really looks at the paper and i think i really only looked at those halo posters because i already knew what they were about. Although im sure they help. but those would be my top 2 ideas there is hit tv and the big names so it trickles down.
also sir if i have your attention mr. PGL. lol i bet your busy with finals too or w/e but if you find a moment tanners stats were never updated from saskatoon and i have a deadly map in for the contest so you should scope it out:) k thats all i have to say pz.

You should post an add on www.kijiji.ca about the tournaments. Lots of tourneys have been on there.

With that the new Frag movie coming out. Maybe Canadians will start to see that pro gaming is not just a joke. If you havent heard of this movie watch the trailer at www.fragmovie.com it looks interesting.

that frag movie is crazy........ even at these PGL events you see a lot of guys under a lot of pressure....... its getting pretty intense

and are you going to post final results from edmonton?
not exaclty sure who they are bringing up..... sycosis was saying he was teaming with drew and they might get heck back..... so it'll be interesting to see whats gonna happen

Take PGL to a New Level so that when someone looks at it from outside the community it looks profecinal. From what there is now it does not and then getting into it and reading things would would think it was run by kids. Some things should change for sure and others just need to go before this will go any were or it will stay not sponsered and low prize money.
if pgl looks "profecional" i think it will come to a screaching hault haha

I would say that sponsoring players/teams wouldn't be too bad of an idea, even if it was just for entry fee. I mean when I wear my PGL shirt at school people stop me and ask me about it all the time.
And of course if you look at what happened to Mae, he lives in Saskatoon, but didn't hear about PGL Saskatoon until it appeared on the news, and by then it was too late. So if possible getting on the news/tv before the tourney would be great.
I also think that having videos is a great idea. I mean PGL Top Ten is a huge step in the right direction, although I've always thought that PGL Top Ten Online would also be a good idea.
And while I am very aware that it costs a hell of alot of money, adding things such as a main stage (with capture cards?) and maybe taking that GH3 projector and putting some Halos up there could make PGL seem like more of a spectacle, attracting more audience members.

we give free entry to our winning teams regardless
we are trying to get on the news before hand..... thats what we did in edmonton anyway
PGL top 10 is definitley a great idea that video guy has
If we get a forum tournament going (that we will be using the new map pack for) we can have a online top 10 as well I would imagine
we have 3 projectors and are working on a mainstage as well........
Winnipeg will be the best tournament so far, i guarentee it
A good idea is for people going to MLG to say something about PGL while they are there........... that would def help

We are working on a sweet main stage idea.
GH3 just gets a HUGE audience and having it on the projectors is money!
It's just too bad the sweet main stage will be in the Peg hahaha.

I'm not sure if any of the admins here met my dad at the Edmonton tourney, but he owns 2 indie video game stores here. I'm sure he would be glad to help you guys out. Message me for any other information and stuff :cool:

what about people advertising more on MLG Canada thats a big one to get Canadians. I could make another account at my sisters and advertise so that i don't get banned on my good account and also so they don't IP ban me.

well since this being your 4th tournament yur doing pretty good. there is a huge online community of players that do talk and the word of PGL is definatly out there. but if u didnt notice already that once kids got schooled in FFA alot of them didnt show up for 2v2 or 4's. offer like a team bundle type of thing where it registers the team for everything. you would probly have a better turn out that way. just post more flyers kind of thing, i'll do my best to help you ouit, but post things around like 7-11's and stuff cause its small things like that people notice and see. try talking with schools and see what u can do there. or tape some to crosswalks and what not.

ya she has a valid point.. the whole "sex sells" thing ~ i think that the main objective has to be make it the place to be.. instead of just a random tourney, the bigger it looks the bigger the hype.

Yeah sex sells works but like Gtrain and I have said it's not that easy to get girls to help with these kind of events. It's not like getting them to stand in front of cars at car shows now that's easy like sunday morning.
We do want PGL to be seen as more of an Event than a Tourny.

3 Projectors? Well I have no idea on how you could hook this all up, but each team having a screen behind them with all 4 players on it could really help with the whole event idea, and of course as I said earlier, main stage = $$$

I have a few suggestions.
1. Do like MLG try and get a contract with Sports Net or something to show your tournaments.
2. Get some people to make Sigs for PGL. Seriously if you guys got a couple sigs done for PGL i would totally have it as one of mine on every Forum i go on with a hyperlink attached that takes you straight to this site.
3. Word of mouth. Ya i know it will take a while for people to start knowing what PGL is but in the long run its the cheapest and one of the best ways to get something out there.
4.Add some more games to your league. GH3, Halo 3, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, NHL08, SSBB and CoD4 are not going to cut it. You need to add some more games. Gears is a great example. There is a huge fan base for that game. Plus with the second one coming ou tin November theres a brand new game there. Even adventure into PC gaming. I bet you you would get the bggest turn outs for CS.
5.Advertise. Put things on the web. Things travel so fast on the web its not even funny.
6. Sponsorship. MLG is sponsored buy like 5 different ones at the moment. Stride, Dr. Pepper, and the others i cant remember. Seriously get some Canadian sponsors on the tour and you will get the word out.
EDIT: Also Mario Kart Wii just came out so add that too. I would so go for that and im sure alot of other people would to.
