Well I just got the three lights of DEATH today. Which totally blows. Just wondering how many people's boxes have died on them? I think mine was just over a year old.

I've lost 2 to the rings also... however... be glad it's 3 rings. My current xbox just gave me one ring and it's a power supply problem. Microsoft covers 3 rings for 3 years... I guess it's one year per ring, because my single red ring is not covered for 3 years and I had to shell out $99 for warranty. Weak MS... weak!

I've had two boxes so far, my first one, a premium which I bought used (yeah, I know it was a good call) broke in 8 days because the disk tray decided not to open, but now my sexy elite has been running great for near a year or something:)

well EB games finaly decided to order some fkn xbox's so i might have a new box this week. but i said that like 2 weeks ago so i dunno

my first box ran for about a year.. then it stopped playing any games other then halo. it just got really annoying after a while cause halo can get boring.
then about 2 weeks later i turned it on to play halo and it got 3 rings so i was going to send it in but my dog peed on it and it voided the warranty hah
but not i just bought a cheap arcade and it runs good..

whats the difference between an elite and a regular xbox? besides the HD?

When you open it like you did thats why it's not under warranty haha, even though you did not touch anything. I've had 2 die and it has mostly been my disc drive screwing up so who knows it might just be how i treat it. But mine is always under warranty so that makes me happy... Once you supper the wait you will have a nice full inbox :D... And i did not know this but i went away for 2 weeks once and did not check my xbox inbox and if you get over 100 messages seams like a lot in two weeks i know but still if you get over a 100 messages the new ones or the oldest i can't remember get deleted so check your in box.
