Hello...

Another guy from Saskatchewan to add to the list. Gamertag: THE VIDEO GUY

I have lots of Halo 2 experience and now that I have some free time I'm building on my Halo 3 skills.

Bit of an introduction? I run my own video production company in SK and have been in touch with Kyle and will be providing video coverage of the upcoming Edmonton event. I?ve been a gamer many a years? since the Intellivsion days way back in the 80?s. Best gaming experience to date was attending and assisting IGN.com cover E3 2006 in LA. I?m sure PGL Edmonton tourney will be right up there with it. :)

Kyle and I have discussed lots of video related ideas that we will be trying to implement at the event so stay tuned for some of those details. I'm hoping to play at the tournament as well so if anyone needs and extra guy, feel free to msg me on xbox live and we'll play a couple rounds.

Cheers.

What are you talking about??

Its cool that there will be come videos show people what the events are like more, will make more people interested.

That's exactly it Urban. Hopefully some of these elements will give PGL a bit more exposure and expand the community. A couple ideas that are floating around are a Tourney Top Ten, 4 vs 4 final coverage with cameras on the players as well as in game visuals, player interviews and a wrap up of the overall event.

I think what RoYaL1&2 was taking about was switching between mutiple game screens live and displaying them on projector for the final event. This would be very cool as well and will likely happen down the road.

While we are on that subject, can someone answer this question for me? I have a non HDMI 360. When you are connected using HDMI, does the 360 send out video signal via component and/or rca video at the same time?

Thanks.

The problem with the component and hdmi at the same time is that the component plug in on the 360 is so bulky that you can't put the hdmi into it's spot. So you can't put both in at the same time.

good idea this could definetly be what PGL needs to EXPLODE! and the projector idea is a great way for when in the finals or whenever for everyone to watch and know whats going on.

A sweet unrealistic idea is sound proof booths for the Guitar Hero III finals. Ones like the WCG uses in the finals for starcraft and such. On a side note the WCG picked up Guitar Hero III as an official game. PGL should use one of their events as a Canadian Qualifier. The finals are in Germany this year.

Thanks for your time:

ps.) Sorry to go so off topic, the video exposure is definitely a step in the right direction. <3

No worries bro... It's funny you mention that Biohazard as I was thinking about that playing GH3 this weekend with a buddy of mine side by side for the first time. Every time he missed a note, the noise messed me up... was only used to playing vs online. I think you said it best... for now... a sweet unrealistic idea.

Thanks for the info ridersaddiction. Apparently I wasn't the only one wondering about this. http://www.chadledford.com/?p=50

Microsoft's business practice?s never cease to amaze me... as I know now from the above link that if I want to get surround sound AND HDMI out should I buy an Elite, unless I want to hack up my accessories, I'm forced to buy an extra add on cable from MS for $50 + tax. Putting the hdmi slot an inch lower would have been just too nice!

... and found out it doesn't down covert the video or output component simultaneously either... even if you do find a way to cram the cables in. Ho hum. Anywho... thanks for the heads up.
