Ok guys this was sent out to everyone that has registered email addys, might be in your junk as well but will post it here for good measure

Thank you for registering to compete in the PGL, Halo 3/ Guitar Hero III Tournament on March 7th - 9th, 2008. We are more excited than ever to arrive in Calgary in to watch another group of potential Pros battle it out in championship console gaming.

This is PGL’s third tournament in 2008 and be sure to stay with us as we make 12 stops and a National Final as we go on a nation wide search in finding the best gamers in North America. Now we need YOUR support! Before March 7th-9th spread the word that the newest gaming tournament league is coming to Calgary. Bring your friends, bring your fans, bring out more competition and let the pwning begin.

PGL is working hard to give you, the gamers, every opportunity to compete and do what you love. Now we need you to give PGL the opportunity to expand and make this event even more exciting.

People are allowed to watch the event for free! As a request from PGL we ask that our participants spread the word, I am sure we all want to see PGL grow and prosper as we cater to our gamers. Also if you have any marketing ideas please contact me directly.

Friday March 7
FFA: start time around 6pm please show up earlier to check in and warm-up

Saturday March 8
2v2v2: start time at 9:30am, please show up earlier to check in and warm up
4v4: start time around 3pm, please show up earlier to check in and warm up

Sunday March 9
2v2v2: Playoffs- Start time around 9:30am
4v4: Playoffs- Start time around 3pm

Halo 3 Rules



OFFICIAL LAN RULES
*Rules can be added or taken away or modified at anytime*
General
1. All players are required to bring their own wired controllers. Play and charge kits may be used, however the battery pack must be dropped out of the back. If the pack is seen in the back of the controller an automatic loss will be given for that game.
2. All players and teams must tentatively make their matches, if players are not present the team must forfeit the games they miss in their allotted time slots.
3. Swearing and physical violence will not be tolerated. It will first result in warning, a second warning will result in a loss of forfeit of the game, a third will result in a ban from the tournament.

5. Online registration receipts are required upon check-in, as well as Release forms.
6. Players are required to bring their own hard drives to the games with the most recent PGL maps. This speeds up the process of people signing in and out of profiles, as well as limits the number of profiles on the Xboxes.
Seeding
1. Seeding will take place on Friday at the FFA
2. Your team is not required to join the FFA for seeding although it is to your teams advantage
3. The highest team members points will be used for seeding
4. FFA players with higher seeding points will be matched with other FFA players with lower seed ranking.
5. Teams that did not participate in seeding will be randomly placed against other teams.
6. Winners of the FFA get first seeding
FFA
1. There will be eliminations immediately depending on participants
2. There will be 6 players at a time
3. Players will play Guardian, Construct and Pit
4. At top 24 play we will drop 3 players out of the bottom
5. The bottom 3 players will be eliminated after every round after that
6. The final 6 will play 3 games total points will win the cash
2v2v2
1. Tournament will be triangle elimination
2. Only 27 or 54 Teams may register
3. 3 brackets are in place ranking players from each other
4. Higher seeded teams will match up against lower seeded teams
5. 2 games total points will determine the winner
6. Top 15 Teams will move on to Playoffs on Sunday
7. Playoffs will be best of 3 with the final game being best of 5
8. In the event of a tie game team +/- will be taken into account
4v4
1. Tournament will be double elimination
2. Higher seeded teams will match up against lower seeded teams
3. Best of 3- two Slayer one Objective
4. Top 16 Teams will move on to Playoffs on Sunday
5. Only 16, 32 or 64 teams will be accepted
6. Playoffs will be best of 5 with the final game being best of 7
7. In the event of a tie game, the exact same game will be played over again with the first score deciding the game
Host
1. FFA host will be randomly determined
2. 2v2v2 & 4v4 Host- The higher seeded team will host all games.
Coaches
1. Each team is allowed one coach who must be registered as ?coach? upon check in.
2. The coach for the team must not be registered as a player in the event type.
3. There will be no coaching for FFA or 2v2.
4. Help from any other players not registered as that teams coach will not be tolerated.
Team Status
To continue with PGL and the point system your team must keep at least two of its original team members, if three or more new members join the team, a new team name must be formed and none of the old team points transfer over except personal points.
Payment
Payment can be made online securing your spot in the tournament. You may also register and pay cash at the event, please click ?pay by cheque/cash/money order? to exercise this option. Will only accept a certain amount of teams so the first to register and pay will be the first officially registered.
Triangle Elimination
Used only in the 2v2v2 all team are separated into three brackets after the first round. Brackets 1,2,3 depending on placement. Teams will work their way through the brackets moving down a bracket after every loss, a loss in bracket 3 results in elimination. Only the team that places first will stay in their particular bracket.

GUITAR HERO III
General

3. Online registration receipts are required upon check-in, as well as Release forms.
4. All players are required to bring their own guitars
5. All Games will be Pro Face-off.
6. It will be set up as a double elimination game with the first 2 rounds being on hard setting and then moved to expert.
7. All rounds must be played on the set difficulty, unless agreed upon by both competitors.
8. All competitors must play using default track speed (no hyperspeed) unless agreed upon by both competitors
9. All games will be best 2/3
10. Modded guitars, such as killswitch, star power pedal, elastic bands, solo buttons, etc. will not be permitted and will result in disqualification.
11. All visual mods are acceptable however
