Okay so I have had my standard 360 headphones since I got it. Had to replace them a couple times due to breakage. I am now ready to replace them yet again. I have one main question regarding these and I hope you can help me out.
How do they connect?
I have heard some are USB, some are analog and connect to the audio from the 360. However unless I am at an event, I sit a good 10 ft away from my TV so I would really prefer not having cords going all the way to my xbox, but if thats wut I have to do, I'll do it. Some kind of high quality wireless would be amazing.
I also want a pair of headphones that has a mic built in. I don't want to use my headphones for just game sound I want it for good, clear voice communication as well. So any and all suggestions are welcome regarding models. Price is an issue but it is not a deal breaker, granted I'm not willing to spend 500 hundred on a set of headphones. So PGL, help me out, what should I buy!!
Edit: So after doing a bunch of reading regarding headphones/headsets I have answered my own question. I think I have narrowed it down to two possible models. The Astro A40, and Tritton's AX360. With anything however there are good and bad for both products.
Astro has great sound, detachable mic, and independently adjustable game and voice volume. But with a price tag of 250 bucks I am a little put off. They also feature wut I can tell is a like a walkie talky system where if a whole team has them u can hear team voice directly through the headset by daisy chaining the mixer boxes.
Tritton has the price set nice at 130 bucks however they require external power from a wall outlet and thus are not allowed at most tournaments. As well the team voice must be sent through the xbox before reaching the headset.
I am honestly at a loss right now. The trittons would be more then enough for at home gaming, but if start attending tournaments the external power might be a curse. The astros look like the best possible choice, but they are in no way cheap and I will have a hard time justifying spending that type of coin. What are your thoughts and if you have a suggestion please let me know, as long as it has a mic that is attachable. I want an all in one solution.
