Ok guys just thought I would make this thread to just give a little more info on PGL and what we are doing and plan to do........ as well as some tournament information.......

As you all know PGL is a competitive video gaming league..... now by saying its a league means that we want league players and league points......

Points-- all add up to special things here that will tell us who our top Pros and Semi-Pros are......... at the end of the year our top teams will be invited to a season ending tournament where the biggest pot of all will be giving out as well as prizes...... we also want to see who our pros are so we can get them sponsored as well.......

Travel--- As you guys know we go from city to city putting on these tournaments we will never do the same city twice in a year and we book our events months and months in advance so we know where things are going to happen

Cash Giveaways--- Ok we guarantee 5K even though these places are getting more and more expensive to book and a lot of the money is coming out of pocket, but the reason for this is to put the gamer first and get the word out so any kind of social networking defiantly helps us grow.......

TV's--- ok guys we are using 24 Prive 26" LCDs that have a 8ms refresh rate....... when we start making a profit here we will be sinking more money into our equipment and making sure we have better and more of it...... these TV's seem to work well for the time being and everyone gets their own screen to play on

Xbox- alright we have 24 xbox 360's as well 4 elites and the rest are arcades..

Bring your own Controller----- now the reason for this is simple.. we don't want our controllers stolen and also people playing with their controllers have a different feel for them

Bring your own HardDrive--- we had a system down with the hardrives and memory sticks that seemed to work fine but even then people would be taking too long typing in their name, fixing their service tag, changing their colors and tweaking their armor...... it just took too long for people to do this at the start of every game.... so we figure, download the latest maps and bring your hard drives to the competitions, it no harder to carry around than a controller and most people have book bags anyway so its not a hassle...... therefore we cut down on down time between games, people can load up everything in seconds rather than minutes and games can resume faster

Whats next?---- ok guys we are trying to grow to become the biggest and best gaming league out their...... we want to rival MLG with more tournaments and bigger giveaways ...... Sponsorship added, more TV's and boxes...... more games added..... bigger events..... bigger giveaways...... team sponsorship......... more equipment........ better times

So we hope to see everyone here at an event and help spread the word...... thanks in advance and feel free to add to the thread in anyway.........

I disagree. I play on an 36" LCD at home and I prefer it way more then tubes. I actually didnt mind the Privos or whatever they are called in Saskatoon.

Hey, this is not 480p H2 we are talking about. Halo 3 needs more than a crt to use its 720p

because you play on the same type of tv does not make it better. It's a tv eather way but we can't have people on different types of tv it would not be fair on 1 team and someone would complain i'm sure. and you can't use tvs that need to be played with different sytle givng players who use those tv a better chance at winning.

everyone should have the most recent updates on their HDD...... i'm sure 99% of people will always have the most recent updates anyway....... if they dont have it, their HDD will be switched out for one that does have it

...You can't play LAN With a copy of Halo 3 1.1 even offline if the other people joining you're game have the old version. All or nothing in order to play.

I think that another thing that might be a good idea is to try to get a school's gym to use for the tournament weekend. SO many kids going to that school would definitely go/tell their friends. The one i went to at ABJ high school in sherwood park had 44 teams...

i dont think that we can legally do this, kinda like advertising in high schools....... the reason there were so many teams is that the high school kids were the ones putting the word out in their hometowns........ something that we have trouble doing......... if we had some high school kids from winnipeg on the board or even knew any it woudl help tremendously

Maybe I couldn't find it or I didn't look hard enough, but I see that 5K is given out as prize money, but how is that 5K distributed amongst the winners? I know not all of it goes to the first place team, but how does it break down. Hope to get an answer soon,

Just a suggestion for the Halo Weekend Pass....$100 per person isn't really that much of an incentive to join all three events. Us Winnipeggers are notorious for seeking deals and who knows maybe cheapness is in our blood, but if it was down to even $80 I'll bet you would sell a lot more of these passes. I'd buy one!

I think its a pretty fair price you save 30 dollars..
if youre gonna enter 2v2 and 4v4 its like getting in ffa for free..
and 80 would be pushing it alot i think

Hmm, well yeah fair enough, just thought I'd put it out there. Something as trivial as an extra $20 wouldn't stop me, anyway
