Shield Regen= Default

Payouts:

1-$2200
2-$1200

4- Free entry into another online or LAN tourney

Lone Wolves or 2vs2 prize amount have not been set yet

THIS AMOUNT CAN BASICALLY DOUBLE IF 50 TEAMS REGISTER

From what i hear the original tourny will be in Regina but then expand to other cities along with future ones in Regina.

Epitaph and Snowbound Should not be used just because 1. No Teams Have practiced them and they are not part of MLG. It Took MLG a wile to create the v2 maps making sure they are good and equal. Giving you like 3 weeks to turn these two maps into a good MLG type map is going to blow Unless you play them 24/7 not many Teams are going to want to go to a Tourney were the final map they will be using are going to be released about a week before you go.. And If you are thinking about these maps you might as well used the new ones as you would have the some amount of time to play around with them? In settings as in the Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack. Would turn Teams away

AR in my opinion should not be used. The secondary weapon would it takes away from close up BR skills were most of the best battles commence....allot of players use controls that help improve there close up BR and that is what makes a good fight not just holding down the right trigger. I would turn down this now the money is a lot less than first stated and with settings that are tire sum and take away from skilled playing..(I?d go for maybe 1-2 AR on the WHOLE map) We already have our Sponsor committed for this even thou and will be going. Would Turn Teams away.

The Shield Regen makes it more like halo 2 allowing a person to be shot a few times by one player and then not be able to jump out for about 5 seconds... The games will be allot faster and Teams that have practiced MLG before. Like played Game Battles and played in MLG lans and small Tourneys are going to not want to re-learn there playing style for one Tourney with a small pay out compared to MLG. This would turn away more Teams.

As you said if you get about 50 teams going the prize money would be higher I would think this could happen if you stuck to MLG and what all Teams are playing and know and are going to want to practice because many Teams are going to look at this as a chance to practice there strats in a lan environment. Before the pro season of 08 it?s a great chance of Canadian Teams.

Ok thanks for signing up here first of all.... i'll address your concerns

Maps: Adding snowbound and epitaph..... I completely understand what you are saying here, it does not leave a lot of time to practice on and I can see that as a disadvantage, but people are already very familiar with the maps so strategies would change and it would be up to the team to adapt, I only considered adding this to add more variety to the tournament.... it is still not a for sure thing but a consideration....

AR: Ok i put in the AR as a secondary weapon, this is more to clean up a kill if a person is trying to reload the BR they at least have some kind of backup.... it takes awhile to reload so it will stop the player from crouching or hiding to reload their weapon if they have a secondary weapon to start with....... I would probably not have an extra clip in it though to make it used less.

Tournament Money: Ok I can only gaurentee $5000 like is said on MLG, but as players register I am going to up the amount I will give away...... so thats why I had to post the guarenteed prize amount otherwise it will be:

Sheild Regen: Ok I think MLG decreasing shield regen is not a good idea....... i know they said people would run away and duck but you lose more than just that when they added this option.....
1. If shields are lower battles one on one are shorter, thus there is less combat gameplay lost and more time searching for other players
2. Having longer battles will show who is more consistent with head shots, obviously the person with the headshots is going to win
3. Allows ample time to call in help by a close team mate to come and join the battle, thus making team work more essential

I find that otherwise its basically a 1vs1 style.....

After this event we plan on going to other cites in Canada here, with more prize money to give away..... I was going to use Regina and Saskatoon as the first two stops only to work the bugs out and get a decent following..... from there we will hit the bigger centers in Western Canada with even more money then head eastward....

It came from an idea of having people be able to make money on something they love to do.... People come home after their busy jobs, and most seem to complain about work, and they pick up a game controller to relax......... well what if that game controller could be your job, how sweet would that be........ So I started this company on the basis of letting people earn a living doing what they love to do......... Game........ all i have to do is get the word out and the pot will get bigger and bigger.....

There will be tons of room for input from the players. I know PGL has been working hard and talking to lots of people to get the rules together. Also nothing will be set in stone.

we are actually using MLG as a template but I really think they could have done better jobs on the maps and the gaming options......... also if you guys have anything you would like to see in PGL or any suggestions make sure you post it up.....

I'd like to see the pro area used for testing things with the most skilled players and sing how they feel about certain things going on.

Agreed, put Free Past Se7en in this boat, we have a lot of experience and understand the game just as much as anyone. As we played with many top Pros from MLG already and we placed 9th at the MLG Toronto Open in Halo 2 4v4. We would like to see this league to succeed as much as possible and are willing to help with that.
