You might as well fork out a little bit more money and get the samsung syncmaster T220. It's a sick monitor (ihasit) and all you need to do is buy VGA cables for it.

Hey, maybe I can help.

I bought this monitor before I really got into gaming, and then when I got an Xbox 360, I hooked it up. I have to say that it is beautiful. Its 5ms like you want, and its native resolution is 1440 x 900, but you will probably want to set it to the one lower so you don't have the black bars on Halo 3, and I haven’t had a problem yet. It’s got two inputs so you can hook up your 360, and your computer if you want to, and its easy to switch back and forth. It’s a really great monitor, and only $140.

Here is the BestBuy link:

I'm not really sure what your asking, but I'll try and anwser. The VGA cable has sound(red, and white cords) for you to plug it into whatever you want.

Hopefully that helps.

The one that I talked about doesn't.
The two that you have posted links too, it doesn't say that they do, or the don't but it doesn't look like they do. I tryed to look them up on FutureShop, becuase they usally say if the monitor has speakers or not, but the two monitors you list wern't on www.Futureshop.ca

Sorry, but I can't tell you for sure.

On paper and for the price this monitor wins hands down.

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10114578&catid=26175

It has speakers, really good contrast ratio, 2ms response time, 1080P, HDMI connection and 3 year warranty. Not all monitors are created equal so ultimately it's up to the user, but there would be no compromise with this monitor. If I were in your position with a gift card for Best Buy, this is the monitor I would pick up... no question.

Best Buy is pretty good with return policies as well too so if the picture ends up not being what you hoped then you can always return it.

Also, read the reviews on the site. Often, if there are no reviews for a model it's because people don't care about it or no ones buying it. It's a 22'' as well.

Good luck!

Great find, but do you have a T.V or monitor with a high "dynamic contrast ratio", it bugs me, beacause whenever I walk into a different room, its really dark and it has to get brighter. It takes about 1 second, but its kind of annoying. It happens on my T.V. and it's got a 1:15,000 dynamic contrast ratio.

Are you talking about when you walk into a different room in Halo 3? Halo has HDR lighting effects built into the game... so when you go from a dark spot in the game to a light spot, it adjusts itself independantly from any TV or monitor settings. It dims and brightens the image automatically to simulate a "human eye" perspective. Some like it, others hate it. I would rather have had the extra res that they had cut out to implement the feature... but I digress.

Oh! Well, yes I was talking aout Halo 3. I only every started to notice the lighting change once I got my 40" T.V. that has the "Dynamic Contrast Ratio", and I read online that a "Dynamic Contrast Ratio" ajusts the lights on screen hence the "Dynamic". But I never notice any lighting change on my 19". Maybe it has something to do with the screen size too?

That monitor video guy posted is sick, just make sure you have an hdmi port on your xbox spencer. Iron was talking about this monitor yesterday, he said that its the same as the one MLG uses, but the MLG one has a 5ms response, can be used as a TV, and is about $300 more.

I'd definatley pick up that viewsonic CJ posted.

Some HDMI monitors with HDMI connections have a system that will try and make the image look pretty. Samsung is famous for this. A monitor like that probably won't have it, but be sure to watch out.

While image-enhancement can certainly help make HDTVs look better, most manufactures did not worry about introducing a degree of lag as a result, as the only application on their minds was DVD and TV signals, cases in which a half-second delay would hardly matter. For gamers, however, heavy image-enhancement can seriously add to the time it takes for commands executed in-game to make their way onto the screen.

But with that said, you can always just use the VGA inputs insted of the HDMI, if it does effect you at all.

If your HDTV doesn't have a Game Mode, the next best bet is the VGA input option. Many HDTVs have a VGA input so as to function easily as computer monitors. Because PCs usually output non-native resolutions, many HDTV manufactures do not apply image enhancement to signals coming in through the VGA input, which can be a boon to gamers.
