View Full Version : Why will this thread be eraced?

Well, I have had many of my posts eraced and altered over the last few months from the moderators of these forums. Not once have I had a PM or E-mail explaining why or what was wrong with what I said.
My latest post was one stating that PGL should announce their schedual ahead of time like MLG does. This was eraced and removed without any mention to me as of why.
I don't know about you, but I live in Canada where I was born free, and have the right to speak freely wherever I go. Sure, I may point out peoples flaws when I speak, but it's my God damn right to say what I want.
PGL, that fact that you remove the opinions of a man who is trying to bring attention to PGL's rules and gametypes by including them in his online ladder site is disgusting. When I mention my website on these forums in order to bring people to PGL's rules and gametypes, to get people prepared for upcoming tourneys, my posts get removed and altered without any explanation.
What you've done here is teriable. I know alot of Toronto's core gaming scene and over the last year I have always tried to speak nice about PGL when the Trash talk starts about you guys... but without even going to one of your events I understand why people tralk trash.
You are pushing out the true gamers in Canada by doing stupid stupid things like not letting people speak their opinions... how else are you to learn what to do next? How is this community suposed to grow with you?
Why would I have my posts altered even after I talked on the phone with Klye about O66 using PGL's rules and gametypes over MLG's. I mean, I'll go back to MLG's settings, NO PROBLEM... maybe people will want to play then.
In my opinion... having sponsors pay for the cost, and still not guarenting the prize money is a Red Flag in anyones mind, (I'm sure AMP noticed that one too). Eracing posts that speak highly of other gaming organizations, or trashing yours is unacceptable within this community. MLGCanada doesn't lock up and erace post about PGL, hell MLGPro doesn't even do that.
You need to make a decision... stop trying to make a quick buck, or throw a quick tourney and start doing this right... you will fail epicly if you keep pushing the community out like your are doing.
Start anouncing dates, start anouncing prizes... just because you have TV's and Xbox is not enough of a reason to state you're qualified to do this so you guys better start doing this right or else the community is going to start seeing this for what it looks like... a fkn scam.
I better get an explaination when this post goes missing... or you will see it again and again... until you ban me, then I will have the members of this community copy and paste this topic over and over until you ban them aswell, until you lose all 25 members who actually post on this site. This post will also be going on MLGCanada.com, along with any responce that I recieve from the moderator of these forums in order to share my experences of PGL with a community who doesn't discriminate.
Just because we are desperate for a League in Canada doesn't give you the right to be a dick... stop ****ing this up and start doing it right.

I tottaly 100% agree with everything matt just said, you are all probably wondering why you havent seen me post for a while, there are 2 reasons ...one i have taken a break from pro gaming for a bit and 2 is beacause PGL loves to delete my posts. I mean i may be a little hostile in sum messages but its only because im trying to get through to the people at PGL. What is wrong with you PGL seriusly!!! ...... Do you expect to go anywere if all you do is piss people off that are trying to help you, PGL going to Montreal was part of the reason im not playing competetivly anymore ...because im just tired of all the bull that comes with supporting such a poorly run business. I think i might just stick to MLG if i ever return. the only way i would come back to PGL is if they did the following :
1 : Update their site & not make it look so Poor
2 : Announce events months in advance
3 : Have every type of information ready for when the event is posted
4 : Have everything planned well in advance so your company doesnt lose money
5 : Get on the phone and call people/Companies to come out and sponser/support PGL
6 : Go to Ebay and purchase the rest of my advice because i can go on forever, and with the juicy tips im giving you guys i should be getting paid.....hell everyone should be getting paid that posts on this site
So i will say goodbye now to everyone ....im sure this message will be taken down or modified by PGL because they feel threatend that this post might hurt PGL in some way but really the only thing hurting PGL at this point is the People running it.
Oh yea there was a post on here one day by MLG's Neighbor ..lasted for about 15 minutes before it got removed...wish you all could have read it

We do like to hear everyone’s opinions, until you gamers say PGL is perfect we know we have work to do. I'm sure Kyle will post something in regards to everything you all had to said. The only thing I can really offer my opinion on Scanlan is the quick buck part. PGL is happy to break even after the events, I don’t know how much money you think Amp puts it but it doesn’t cover as much as I think you assume it does.
Ghost, solid points I know kyle has been working his ass off to do everything you stated, minus the paying you to post haha
We do leave deleting/editing posts up to our Mods. They are supposed to enforce the forum rules. So if your post get edited or deleted normally it’s because a mod felt you broke a rule.

As for the MLG Neighbor post, I removed that because it was obviously a fake and if someone wanted their opinion to be heard they could have done it in a more mature way. I know Kyle does read his PM’s just is slow to respond.
P.S. I moved this thread because it wasn't really news/announcements in case you are wondering.

My post yesterday said the following:
"MLG's season just ended on sunday, and they have already anounced Medowlands for April. PGL anouncing an event a Month before is unaceptable"
Where in those words did I break any of the forums rules.
Hey Mr.Deleter, explain yourself.
Oh, and if you do this right, AMP will 100% cover the costs... they want to see if you can pull it off first... but I'm assuming that too of course. If they don't, then you find a new sponsor who will, because if it's done right and it's successful, the opertunity for these sponsor is enormous and they will be losing out.
But, like I said, it's needs to be done right...

Right they WILL cover 100% but they dont at the moment. You are right with everything you but some people are assuming AMP gave PGL sacks of money which is soooooo far from the truth.

Ok, you give some good points, but if Montreal was pulled off a bit better from a web users point of view, and money was guarenteed, I don't see why anyone would be complaining, but still everyday I see people flame PGL on here and their posts get removed.
My posts are not flames, they do not mock PGL, but still they get removed. I don't understand because no explanation was ever given the multiple times it has happened to me, so I hope you see my frustration in this matter.

Honestly tho it shouldnt just be kyle doing all the work, there should be a team of at least 5 people or more to work on this, there is just to much to be done to have such a small team.
If you could pass the message on to kyle that im looking for some extra work,
I think my work experience and skills that i have learned could really benefit PGL. Im not looking for big pay cheques, maybe just a measly $50 a month i really dont mind, Just give me a job /Objective to complete and i promise i can have it done, if not.... you know im not the guy for the job. I want to get on the PGL team and make Canada's gaming league somthing for the record books, ......We need to get this organized so some time in the future we can have finals as good as........PGL Baja Championship , or PGL Jamaica
I know thats your goal as a company to be making big money and big payouts
im offering my skills and my help for barley nothing , give me a chance and i promise you wont forget it PGL.

the problem i see is the lague has potential. but the people running it should hire professinals to help them with advertising and such. and you no how people say you should love your job. i tihnk thats a porblem i dont think kyle loves gaming as much as he did. him not being online on live for over a month says that too me.

What are you on about? I quoted something Scanlan posted to back up (one of his points) that the community knows what PGL needs to do to really improve and grow as a league.
the problem i see is the lague has potential. but the people running it should hire professinals to help them with advertising and such.
The problem isn't advertising though. It's that not enough information is given about the tournaments, and all the information is given too close to the actual event date. As well, the tournaments prize money is never fully confirmed (and is made out to be more than it ever is) and then the tournament isn't run well or efficiently (warm-ups in between games/series, no ref fully ready to get teams to the station or to stop/start games in a timely manner, etc.)

This league has not seemed to take much advice from the members and seems that all these decisions have been made at 2am on a sunday night.. A professional web page designer offered to help PGL out and make their site better it was a free offer as he liked the community and they said no like really who does that.

Quick buck!!!! LOL man this thing has lost at every event, I have lost so much money you would shit....... also sponsors arent giving me money!!! I havent got any money from them yet.... this has been a huge stuggle..... the staff goes unpaid and also takes a loss buying their own food.... the staff also has full time jobs, goes to school and needs income which in turn comsumes time
venues have to be Pepsi friendly...... how can i announce a schedule when I dont know what is pepsi friendly, who is gonna sponsor etc...... its is really easy to criticise but until its your money its a different story..... I promise if you book and pay for my venues I'll annouce the tournaments tomorrow....
to grow a community we need more support, instead of bitching about prize pots why dont you recruit some teams to help out!!! everyone can critisize but until someone wants to step it up and actually help make it grow all your doing is making yourself look silly
Also i had to pay forthe equiptement, enjoy paying for all that, to top it off someone stole an xbox 360 from me last event, no one volunteered to help tear down or put up...... so as glamorous as it sounds maybe people should be more considerate........ Post up questions if you want

if you dont even have a venue set or anything confirmed then why did u tell people at montreal that the next event will be in Toronto in January. All u did was start all this hype and your going to look dumb if u still havnt found a venue come christmas...
And i look at these forums almost everyday, i see sooo many posts about how to improve PGL... but i havent really seen you guys listen to anyones suggestions... I understand the money and im not getting mad over it, but if you keep losing money there is something wrong... just be more organized, and the money will come back to your pockets...I would rather see PGL Go to Regina and saskatoon 3 times and get enough money to pull off an AMAZING toronto event rather than another event thats put together in 2 weeks.
I dont mean to bash on you guys, i just really want to see this league go places... like everyone else on this forum

You know whats real funny is at the very first PGL my team got screwed over a couple times, (4th place was supposed to be free entry, never happened, 3rd place team was allowed a sub and we were never asked, then Kyle lies about it on the forums saying he did ask) I made a post saying PGL can't be ran like that and they wont make it if they do...
At that time everyone loved PGL so I get flamed so hard its not even funny... Whatever I shake it off and decide to give them another chance....I go to two more PGL events driving over 28hrs and still continue to see people get screwed outa prize money and get screwed out of some myself. ( I won't go into details, because this post is not about me)
So the point of this rant?? I am saying this thread is 100% correct. PGL needs just 2 things to be way better in my eyes...
1) A minimum prize amount garanteed before the event. Maybe different levels of money depending on the amount of teams? example...
If 4-7 teams ... 1st - $100 2nd - $0
If 8-11 teams ... 1st $200 2nd $50 ...
and so on...do some actual "business" stuff and project costs and entry fees... this will take away 90% of the bitching people do about PGL, also it will make MORE teams come because they can plan out their own expenses.
Also for the love of GOD quit taking money from other events... The smash people don't want to pay for the effing Halo peoples prize money... they should be completly seperate! I think even the halo events should be seperate, why should johnny who is new to halo and only does FFA pay for AMPs 4v4 team prize... he should have a proportional shot at the money he put in for FFA.
Also after the tournament is done post the prize amounts on the website. It pretty clear you are trying to hide something when you don't post amounts, all this information should be transparent.
2) Announce events ahead of time... booking a room is booking a room, whether it is done 1 or 6 months in advance, maybe montreal was different because of Arcadia, but Toronto should have never been called off last minute like that.
ANYWAYS long story short? All this has been happening since day 1 PGL ... nothing has changed.
Also the bitching about losing money is old, you can't hold it over all these kids heads and use it as a scape goat. You created a business with a large capital investment at the start, you should expect to lose money the first couple years, all businesses do. The losing money should not be what your scared of, its the shrinking growth, every tournament is smaller then the last pretty much. The forums are filled with suggestions to turn that around. Anyways I am not bitching just trying to "help"
I do hope PGL regina comes around, I will still go, even tho I don't play halo really anymore and PGL never fails to piss me off, but I am more forgiving then most I guess.

Well, Kevin and I are good friends and I don't see your inside joke. He doesn't even come to these forums so it must be between you and someone else. I hope you find it funny.
Again...I don't care, i'm tired of arguing with people who can't see 2 sides to a story so go ahead and think what you want but it's not going to help you any.

Yeah Epikon is 100% right, I would rather have a guarantee prize money than hoping i get the correct prize money. Even if first only gets 400 or so its better to have a guarantee prize money.

I have been here since the start and nothing has seemed to change... the amount of work and thought that seems to put into PGL is minimal and its like you guys just hope it works its self out and you can start racking in loads of money like MLG well first of you need to do something ****ing work and try to make it a good league to support the players first then your self... TAKE your head out your ass and start to realize what you are doing is not working....

how staffed do u think this league is...... it is 1 person...... that is it, everyone else helps at events, not only that i have school as well and other things to take care of..... i am seriously doing the best that i can in the time that i have......
how do you promise a prize pool when 8 teams show up..... let do it this way from now on wiht money, i will give away a prize pool of $10 000 for every single event... but the prices to enter may change randomly... so if we only get 10 teams to show up we will charge $200 a person to make it up to $10 000........ can you see how difficult thatis..... where is the money supposed to come from to gaurentee a prize giveaway...... you guys seriously think that any business racks in money its first few years you are mistaken....... but hey as long as its not your own money you guys have no problem complaining....
we wanted to book for Toronto in Jan, we need pepsi friendly facilities and I was supposed to be given a list of them last week..... so i dunno what thats about.... i'll try to get it as soon as possible and then ill try to release dates for the rest of the year......

I agree with whoever said that he would rather see a bunch of tournaments in Regina and Stoon and pull something big off in Toronto or something, that sounds like the easiest money making strategy so far.
maybe they keep deleting your threads because you don't know how to spell.
that goes for 95% of this community as well..
