figured i'd bunch all of this into 1 post instead of leaving it spread out around the forums..

This is both active and resolved issues... and despite how all of this comes together, I just want to make clear that I feel everything was VERY well run from a 1st tournament standpoint. 5 stars forsure.

1- TV's
---------
I spoke with Kyle (quite a few times), and it seems there WILL be a fix for this (either HDMI or an alternative). It seemed to me like the elites handled the output to the TV a little more smooth than the premiums... As well as HDMI making it 100x better.

Second issue with the TV's, as made aware by whyyy teee, there is no headphone jack output on the televisions. First off, if you're purchasing new headphones, I strongly advise OPEN eared headphones so teammates are still able to be heard. Along with that, I advise buying headphones with an amplifier, because the outputs on the TV's that PGL owns are not pre-amplified, which makes hearing the sound a little hard. (It was 1000000x louder on my amplified turtle beach headphones than my sennheisers). As for the output problem, there are left and right RCA outputs on the televisions. You can get a RCA to headphone converters from The Source By Circuit City (the old Radioshacks). You can use the following product ID when you go into the store, just tell them this is what you're looking for.
The good:
Product ID: 4218402 (http://www.thesourcecc.com/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&category=Cable+Adapters&product=4218402)
The cheap:
Product ID: 4202153 (http://www.thesourcecc.com/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&category=Cable+Adapters&product=4202153)
Keep in mind there's quite the difference between the quality transfer of these cables, the 29.99 is definitely well spent.

2- Controllers
---------
Personally I think wired controllers are a better idea. I know I was spectating whytee and beast in their 2v2 games and noticed someone turned on their controller and hit the guide button 3 times. Wireless is a bad idea in the first place, and MLG has a zero tolerance for this as well. Anything that can possibly mess with the game while it is going shouldn't be allowed, whether on purpose or accidental.
-----

3- Host box
---------
I don't know why I'm putting it here, but I may as well. I know we didn't host 1 game throughout our 4v4, but we also agreed to let the other teams have it. It's not a big deal, but it just shows more organization, and doesn't allow any discrepancies. In other words, I should haveve been told to shutup and host already.
-----

4- Coaches
---------
At a professional level event, coaches should by all means be allowed. I think that a set coach should be assigned if requested by the team. There was a few teams there (doubles and 4v4) that had help from outsiders during the game (and i'm guilty of this as well)... No communication should be allowed in a competition game unless assigned prior to the game. MLG considers this an advantage and disqualifies any team breaking this rule.
-----

5- Shit Talk
---------
C'mon guys, did you really think I was going to try to suggest a rule that I'd break every game?
-----

6- In Game Names
---------
This was another one that I constantly broke. Gamertags in game should be names as registered. I changed to a few different names, but without their being a set rule against this I figured it wasn't a very big issue.
-----

7- Parents Consent
---------
I'm not 100% sure if this is a rule or not, but I agree 100% that anyone under 16 should have to have guardian signature on a formal document.. Not only does it keep the tournaments more organized and professional, but it allows the parents to see the concern being held by parents. Not only that, but the game is rated T, so this should be a no brainer.
-----

8- FFA maps
---------
They're fixed.
-----

9- Changing rules
---------
I'm curious as to how this is going to go down. Is PGL keeping a set rule list for all of the season, or will it be rotating per event, or even at random times? I also suggest that new maps(if planned) be forged with less MLG-like settings. Maybe a different hill pattern, some different weapon spawns, initial spawns, etc.
-----

10- Forum rules
---------
You guys have big hearts, but sometimes a 2 week ban is healthy... It just doesn't seem to click in some peoples minds when you ask them nicely to tone it down. It actually seems like it got worse... Everyone on the forums has to have a little consideration for PGL, any first timers, parents, potential investors (whether sponsors or similar) browsing on the site looking at the last recent posts will see topics full of "oh em gee you eff gee tee my leet skills will pwn you now lets goto an event so i can show you my lvl 49 and then beat you up afterwards". Of course smack talk is healthy, but a healthy level of smacktalk isn't threats, or being at each others throats for extended periods of time... I'm sure I speak for myself and everyone else here when I say that that type of talk doesn't belong in a professional league.. it belongs on xbox live where everything you say isn't databased and reviewed by participants and professional partners.

and once again, I can't stress enough that this is no means showing the flaws, it's just giving my opinion and feedback to suggest ways to help things take off.

Everything you have mentioned above was talked about during or right after the tourny. THere will be updated rules and what not for Saskatoon.

We love hearing everyones input because in the end we want everything to be great so more people show up and then more money can be won.
