I was just curious Montreal is over and wanted to know if you guys had a guess at where your next tournament will be and how do you decide from where to where like i.e east to west. Idc where it is honestly because I'm going to greyhound or train it wherever it is.

That's sick and it will be a good turnout as well. The west might have the quantity but east has the quality. Cant wait for Toronto in that case

Toronto would be a good idea, but Vancouver would either make or break PGL.
If they want to stay a solid league, I'd suggest staying in Saskatchewan and Alberta after they're done in Ontario and Quebec. There are tons and tons of teams within Sask and Alberta, assuring a successful turnout.
They should just chill back and remain a local league until they get all of their stuff sorted out.

I would love to go Sask just to finally play with all you guys from the west coast. I would rather like Toronto because that would mean better competition and closer for me.

Well Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa are reasonably close together correct? You would think that teams would be willing to drive a bit to the events. So far Saskatoon had more teams than both Ottawa and Montreal combined! I would love for Toronto to be massive since it is a lot larger than little old s'toon lol

PGL hardly had a site at the time of Regina...that has nothing to do with it.

how the **** does everyone know this?
there has been no tournies on the west coast at all so every time i hear someone ****ing say this it makes me want to slap the **** out of them...

Are you really that dumb....... You dont think people need time to arange things like that, the full details for Montreal wernt released until like 2 weeks before the event and at that point I cant just tell my boss im not coming to work. Your an idiot
haha ok...whatever you say...just for the record calling me out doesn't make you right, it just makes you look immature.
Regina had absolutely no advertisement at all, Saskatoon had a bit more but there was next to no information besides the date and location until close to the event as well. It looked just like Montreal before the event but with even less info. Of course people need time to arrange things but you had the date long before 2 weeks, just because you weren't sure about how everything was going to work is no excuse. I'm not saying it's wrong because it was your choice, and it was competley justified because who wants to run the risk of it not going well. But there are ways around those kinds of things... if you want to go you can find a way.
The bottom line of my post was Regina and Saskatoon had less notice, less information and still more teams showed up than any of the other events. That's it, there's no argument there because it's the truth...I'm sure that the slow release of information had a fair amount of impact on the amount of teams but my only point was it was like that for almosts ALL the other events so quit whining about it right now, hopefully that will be fixed for future events though.
Next time, consider someone else might know something that you don't.

Isnt PGL based in Sask??? Obviously they wouldnt need as much notice for all the Randy Saskatchawan teams. Sure there may have been a lot of teams there but I would like to know how many of them traveled from different provinces...... If you want people to be able to travel across the country for your events you NEED TO GIVE MORE NOTICE. I dont know how you can even argue against that.
Teams drove from Alberta, Manitoba, Some from the states...this is with short notice and next to no advertising.
I never once said they didn't "NEED TO GIVE MORE NOTICE" did I? That's not what i'm saying...I know that they need to give more notice and information before events. I think everyone here agrees with that so your now arguing about something completley pointless...

Ummmm correct me if im wrong but when I said they need more notice the first time you said "That has nothing to do with it"......... Make up ur mind.
Nevermind...my first point was that it had nothing to do with the small amount of teams when you compare it to any other event. They all went the same way so you can't blame it on that and say that the east is better for events. I know that might not have been what you were saying but it's been said so many times before the West gets left out. So saying the east WILL have a better turnout and that this is just because there wasn't enough time isn't even an argument. All of the events were the same sort of deal and west came out with a much better turnout. That's what was meant by my first post so it doesn't at all contradict anything i've said here. But don't take it the completley wrong way or anything.

not reasonably close 6 hour drive + hotel people arent willing when they know they are going to lose good try though, not, FAGGET, and alot of people dont even have the option to drive and train highers the price even more. Give it up that Saskatoon is the gaming pinacle of the world already, it seems that most of you kids try to make it seem like it is,

not always true. if i could have worked it out to go to montreal i would have went for sure. im only 15 though and maybe next year i will go to events further from winnipeg. but i think that there are people that will go regardless of a top 3 finish. i certainly would have gone to montreal even though i wasnt able to find a good team :P

Wow.
Why is everyone so pissy? All that was said was that Saskatoon had the most teams. That's a fact, there's no arguing with that...
Why was this so? Maybe because the players worked their asses off to get more and more teams to come to the event. There where THREE teams that came from my school alone lol, thats nearly half of the teams at Montreal. If the players in Toronto get the word out, PGL Toronto will be as big, if not bigger than Saskatoon.
To be straight up, PGL hasn't been all that organized so far and hasn't done the best job of advertising. (No offense, PGL's awesome.) So it kinda becomes the player's responsibility to get the word out. So if you want a big turnout, go tell people about PGL. And that goes for every city.

Not trying to re-bring this conflict up,
but Saskatoon/Regina would have to be in there for two reasons:
a) Home turf
b) Guaranteed AMAZING turnouts
I dont think if they were to do 6 events, Vancouver wouldn't be in there, sorry, its just not a guaranteed turnout, its sooooo far West, and no one knows about PGL out there.
My six would be
1)Montreal- (Passed)
2)Winnipeg- (To keep it close to Montreal)
3)Edmonton- (Close to home)
4)Saskatoon/Regina- (Home turf, not much of a price in putting SASK tourneys on)

Sorry my mistake,
well actually,
they're alot of Gamers, its just that BC doesnt know about PGL as well as the middle western and eastern's do. If all the BC gamers found out about PGL, I can guarantee the turnout would be the best so far.(Maybe to be surpassed by Toronto, but it would be better then Saskatoons. well this dude i met on mlg forums from bc has a warehouse and he is setting up a Lan there soon so i'll get the word out about it more than i already have.
I personally only know about 10-12 people from my old school that i got into halo online like.. a few years ago that could go along with a girl that moved here from Vegas that plays..
sooo after i go to the LAN I'll tell everyone how many people are interested and it will defiantly help get the word out probably really quickly. ALSO maybe even after i go to the LAN and check out how big his warehouse is PGL could be hosted there(BURNABY,BC - i believe ).

even better do only like 6 events a year but inbetween events. do local regina lans. where cash give away isnt as much and you use the rest of the ungiven away money to put towards prizes for events. and the money you make from doing local events and having less cost you can use to have events in places such as vancouver and toronto.

Honestly if PGL had a Regina LAN once a month with like no prize money (maybe 1st gets free entry or something? t-shirts? idno) I would still go to them and pay an entry fee, now with that said I would expect the entrance fee to be less than usual, but you know what I mean.
Then like Reid said, take that money and put it towards prize pools/whatever at other events. And I mean you probably would only need one/two stations to play on, or you could have a BYOBox tourney, but that will result in a LOT less teams.
And Basher has a point about having a tourney way out west, I mean it's the same as going to PEI or something. Idno, Basher said it best, if there was enough interest out west I could see it happening, but otherwise idno.

vancouver should never happen because half the people from east wouldnt go some people in the central wouldnt go either and unless there is a huge demand to kyle from more then 2 people im talking like 20 people then there will be no vancouver im pretty sure. vancouver = fail ( i agree for toronto saskatoon and winnepeg )
i have a list of over 20 bc gamers that would go i know about 10 irl

Do those 20 gamers cover travel cost, renting a place, hotel rooms?
Those are factors in putting on tourneys too:(

You only say that because your from the east. and YOU probably wouldn't go.
I'm sure Vancouver would have a turn out. I live in BC and I've heard about PGL and so have other people from the forum. Its really not that hard to spread the word on XBL or just in your town with your gaming friends. Even if I myself can't convince people to go there are some really good teams out of Washington that probably could make it.
MLG doesnt come North West ( come on Seattle 09!) and PGL doesn't come west ( yet..) So we haven't been given a chance to even find out if there would be a turn out.
Think of how it is for me. I do want to go to an event both PGL and MLG but when Dallas is closer to me then Toronto its kinda ridiculous how far I have to travel to every event. This is just ONE time you have to travel far.

i know id be willing to pay for the 10 people i know irl's hotel rooms or just let them all stay in my room.
BTW traveling fees from victoria to vancouver = 13$ ferry ride WOW EXPENSIVE.
oh ya I'm not a ****ing retard i know there are travel fees and ****ing hotel costs if there wasn't i wouldn't need a PGL Vancouver so any day you want to stop talking to me like i don't know anything about tournaments that would be that would be cool idiot.

I could guarantee at least 6 4v4 teams JUST from Vancouver, nevermind all of BC and Washington....
