The Montreal Experience

Pro Gaming League was no more than huge. They stole the show away from Festival Arcadia who welcomes over 20,000 people. Who would have thought?!

If you where at this tournament you wouldn?t have been able to deny the amount of energy that was there. The skill levels were so high and so was everybody?s spirits, all competing to grab some of that $10,000 prize money.

I want to thank both AMP Energy and PGL for giving us this successful event, and I also want to thank all the players that came out and made this whole thing major.

Smash Singles

1st : HolyNightmare (ROB)
2rd : Filauc (Marth)
3rd : Mat (Snake)
4th : Swordgard -AiR- (Ice Climbers)
5th : Agony (Game&Watch)

After it's a mess of scrubby players and Me, Jer, Kuro and Agora.

In doubles it was

1st : Holy & Swordgard
2nd : Agora and Agony? I don't know, I was playing Melee.

Basically, the tournament didn't have any pools, which made bracket play a pain to play through all the bad players. Rounds were only one match so I got screwed since my match was the first one and I didn't know, since 99.9% of the time rounds are best out of 3 in other tournaments. No space at all, not enough Wii stations, people took too much time with the wiimotes, People who lost once didn't know there was a loser's bracket. The tournament officials didn't know anything about Smash, It was tough to hear your matches being called over all the noise, etc etc.

yeah probably the biggest problem PGL had was the organization skills. They need to fix this for next event.

PGL was a great time. I kinda got screwed by team mates but I still had fun. TKS sent two teams and we played eachother first round. My team went to losers and was evenutally was elimated by my new friend BaSher's team. lol I had fun. Being my first event it was different but it was pretty cool. Thanks again and congrats to AMP TKS and SwarM for placing in the top 3.

On behalf of TKS I would like to thank Kyle and the staff of PGL for the opportunity of having our own Canadian league and all the work that they have done. Bruce and the Amp staff for helping also. The CBC, CTV and all the players that were involved in the event.Job well done by everyone!Let us all help out and make Toronto a big success.

PGL gonna grow up of course if they run on the same way. I think the best thing , different with mlg is the full screen. If everysignle round you can play on full screen , the people who dont like the split screen during a tourney , will come on our community.

My suggestions :

-Continue with the full screen .
-No more Epitaph on FFA map
-Neutral on their descisions ( i mean without exemple , time for wram-up for everysingle concurent.)
-Make more tourney on the east coast.More gamerz live in Ontario and Qu?bec . ( i know only one qu?bec team be there but nobody know what is PGL ... ).
-Respect the schedule .
-Making round with gametypes before the events
-Probably stupid but give more attention for more than only one team ( N49 )
-I saw some camera but no vid ... so i will write , some Podcast .
-Top ten matches.
-1 or 2 photograph for a couple picture of the week-end.
-TV with speaker because its not everybody who got headphone thant you can plug with the * RCA * color cable.like A40 and scheneiser.
-A Place on the website for the people with seed who can write their Bio ( like mlg pro but not for only big name )
-For the end , support the gamerz who do promotions for PGL . *like us * who want to do a big lan to do promotions for PGL .

The Pepsi Forum (That?s the name of the building) gave the PGL guys some trouble. A couple of fuses blew and they had to push back everything. They made the best of it considering the event took place and everybody came out being a fan. Next time things will be on schedule and everybody will be getting their warm-ups in, no worries.
