What do you guys think about the new game's campaign / multiplayer, do you think it will get popular at pgl and is anyone getting it?

im getting it on launch and multiplayer is gunna be sick. host isnt as big of an issue anymore theres new sweet game types new guns that one gun called the hammer something is aprntyl like the shadow run rifle so it should be a competitive gun.

i actually hope its not, i mean gears has great campaign, a much better one then halo IMO but i never grew a liking for the multiiplayer, unless they drastically changed it in the second one.

I'm so pumped for this game. The gun that is like the Shadowrun rifle is the new "hammerburst" You can use it as a starting weapon and it is a 6 shot kill (I think) I loved GoW1s campaign, but the multiplayer was sooooo broken, and they've pretty much fixed everything I didn't like about the first one for the second one. The shotgun no longer has a random spread, and it has been nerfed, so no more random shotty fights. The lancer seems pretty much the same, although now its harder to stun someone reving the chainsaw, although theyve added stopping power, so if someone is sprinting at you and you shoot them theyll slow down. Again, this will stop the CQC with the shotgun. Everyone I've talked to says that the game is now all about ranged fighting and organized flanks, and with the hammerburst, teamshooting wins games. The sniper is also no longer a one shot down, and you can be knocked around in the scope, like in Halo. Players are also no longer invulnerable while exceuting someone, which should make for some cluth plays. Not to mention the host advantage is ALOT less than GoW1. And the main baddie has a double edged sword with chainsaws on the ends...

This is how the first game should have been, but at least they seem to have gotten it right this time.

Hammerburst was in the first gow and nobody used it. also its now single burst and you can start with is so who knows. has nobody even played the first here?

well gears one is better than halo 3 imo. and gow2 wont have much of a host advantage so i hope its better.

also the campaign looks so fkn awesome, way better then any other game ive played (golden eye is a close second). if gears one can be the 3rd most popular game on xbox live for the past month then i think that the hype is so huge the mutiplayer server will go down like halo's did the first Christmas.

This game is equally as good as Halo, if not, better.

PGL, it would a flat out terrible decision not to put this in the 09 circuit. There are SO many people from PGL playing this game, and SO many that aren't in PGL yet that are playing it too. This would bring a ton of new people and make PGL tournies BIGGER.

It would be great addition, but you have to realize it is a brand new game and people are gonna play it a lot at the start. It will have a fallout once other games come out. Just look at cod as example. Lots of people stopped playing halo for awhile but found their way back eventually. I have yet to play the new gears of war, but i know i don't enjoy the old gears. That's just my opinion though and we'll just have to wait and see if some serious teams start coming together on the forums.
