OK so I am at home now for like 10 mins and I noticed no one posted anything since the beginning of the tourney.

Sooo, I took the liberty of starting a feedback thread on what you thought of the first (and not last) PGL Tourney. Feel free to post whatever you think or thought of it but please keep it clean.

I thought that the tourney was well organized and was a great, safe environment ( Thank you so much cause' my bro is 11 ) considering that all the PGL People were ripped and could take out any one they wanted to. The fact that 2v2 was incorperated into the tourney was cool also. Cool shirts as well.

On the minor downside, the equipment was good, but could be better. ( I know it's your first tourney ) The only thing that frustrated me was that the TV's were a little slow because they were being run on a format that wasn't compatible with most of the 360's which was hard to get used to.

Good tourney so far can't wait for playoffs.

ffa spawns sucked

the venue was super dry
did i mention the tv's sucked
oh, and the tv's sucked

all of the bad can easily be fixed with a bit of tweaking, ffa was hard to go off of because MLG didn't forge their maps correctly..

the good:

after a rocky start, everything unfolded nicely and it was WELL organized for a first time run
everyone was really friendly
free redbull = win
prices were very very fair with exception to the drinks (which, was out of your hands)
$20 PGL shirt > $20 MLG shirt
the environment was nice
FINALLY SOMETHING IN REGINA
cbc radio one interview was pretty leet
i almost got my ass kicked by an 11 year old prodigy

and despite the "figure it out as you go" thing that went on for ffa, everything was really well done

lets have a big round of applause for customs being douchebags and holding back the xbox's.. well done on their part.

saskatoon should be one hell of a tournament.

ha well im srry Kyle but those t.v were not set-up properly for the 360's, but hey man it was still fun even tho i only went for ffa but hey srry i didnt come back for the rest but just gettin surgery sucked man it took a huge toll on me last night to drive home, which is a hour drive, but ya everyone needs to keep in mind this was Kyles first shot at it, and im not saying there is bad criticism on here i know its to help Kyle so we can enjoy it alot more next time, just if ur gonna say bad shit about PGl then dont post here. Oh and soemtimes those Team spawns in ffa were good and bad and wtf was wit a brute shot haha that sucked I lost out cause that shit man lol well and the fact a 11yr old Mirked on pretty much everyone there ahah damn Royal Bro's, but all in all it was a lot of fun sucks i gotta go away for the navy in a week but hey ill be playing on gamebattles just made a team and changed my GT

I was really impressed with the event. Excellent location, nice people, and best players won from what I seen on Sat.!

As for the TV's hey everyone played on the same TV. It was the same for everyone. For the first event I know Kyle took a bath on this event so he did the best he could. I know he would of loved better TV's.

I'm disappointed in the lack of local business support. I hope everyone who took part goes back to were they buy there games and tell them how they missed out on a great event and how dissappointed as a consumer you are and hope in the furture they will support "YOUR LEAGUE".

I hope like hell everyone spreads the word to other games in Saskatoon and Calgary and get out lots of players. So please make a point of telling others because Kyle would rather pay the money out to the players than spend a shit load on marketing and short the player.

I was one of the father hanging out watching my 10 year old son and his little buddy get school. I met alot of nice people and wish all you guys the best on Sunday!

you're turning this into a flamefest in a thread that was supposed to be feedback for the tournament? i was giving my honest opinion about the tournament.. you weren't there, so you should probably stay out of the thread until you know whats going on.

maybe MLG forged the maps wrong for ffa, but when PGL reforged it kyle wasn't aware of the spawn effect on FFA and i didn't get back to his PM in time so that he could change them... those were the least tested maps.

the xbox issue, was out of his hands, he can't control customs.. same with the tv's. it was last minute.

i've spoken about this with nexy and he's aware that the maps need a more variety of spawns, if you look back to halo 2, depending on the map, TS usually didn't have repetative spawns like the ones in the MLG forged maps.

and as to your stab at my team...

the game you played against us was our first game playing as a team... #1 i play once a week if that, and your games, besides the 2v2v2vrandoms game we played i didn't warm up at all.

besides, who honestly takes a random custom game seriously? what have you done that sets you apart from me? the pretty little 10-1 that you have in your gamebattles sig even though the only good teams played for the fall season? its a shame that my team had to have a big bitchfest and ended up deleting our gamebattles team or i could've linked you to some real games. the only good teams left on that ladder are drew/heck/sycosis, QoP and POTO, and even poto i run shit on.

Even though this is the first lan tournement I attended I would have to agree it was pretty organized and nicely set up the seating. Everyone had a problem with the tvs and it was hard to get used to I just hope maybe we won't see those again in Saskatoon.

It was cool everyone was friendly down there and there wasn't any smack talking unless it was to their friends, I accidentally swore at my teammate when we were smack talking each other lucky I don't think anyone caught me lol.

Hopefully PGL could get big in Canada like MLG is in the states, all you really need is word of mouth to get out about the PGL then we can get more sponsors more prizes and better tvs! lol

Really hope this thing gets big nationwide and is there any way to control the spawns for ffa maps? It was nice meeting all you guys the last 2 nights hopefully I'll see you guys again in Saskatoon

i agree with you 100% that MLG didn't forge the maps for FFA... i'm saying that kyle wasn't aware that the *STARTING SPAWNS* were not suitable for FFA. everyone spawned beside each other.

and uhh, halo 3 spawning locations have nothing to do with the spawns you put on the map, if you put 30 spawns at snipe 2 and 1 spawn at br 1, if there is someone at snipe 2 you'll spawn at br 1 unless the person at snipe 2 has a sniper.

i'm talking about starting points, and they're terrible in the MLG forged maps. construct forges the starting points directly across from each other so that the beginning of the game is just a scramble. this may be good in some senses (and yes, it does make the spawns alot more fair because each team is an equal distance from each point of the map) but in most cases, it makes for a repetative game. guardian, either you spawn elbow or the bottom of blue ramp... but remember halo 2, in lockout you could spawn bottom BR, bottom blue, bottom snipe, bottom mid, mid br or library.

I see the young lad lives in Calgary and his profile states his name and his DOB. One call to the Calgary police dept in my view is the correct reponse. Cyber crime is an area were Calgary Police have developed an excellent team. Typing a message is no different that yelling it on the street.

Our team was quiet during that game, but people were talking shit about you, take your pick between a bunch of different people (mainly the team you were playing). Either way there was still no need for the "good game, but your garbage" after a game, no matter who it came from. Its over however, I don't care, you owned us straight up. Hopefully we can rematch at stoon (if we end up going)

Also thats cool you offered to play 3v4, never said it was your fault for taking a sub, we would have to if we were down and were offered one. It just doesn't make sense to run a competitive tournament like that, in my opinion, just saying maybe for next tournament throw in a rule about subs so everyone is clear.

OK Guys. Great tourney, lots of fun for me and my bro's first events. I gotta make some points though.

#1 For the people that think my brother is bad: YOU ARE WRONG. My brother is amazing and I will back that up any day. He dong's on kids in FFA and 4v4 when he gets hot. Let's just say I hopped in his pack in 2v2 as well. That was his first LAN tourney and he showed up, even when he was nervous (we played in some close games) he still came through and played amazing.

#2 Trask talking at the tourney: It was great. Healthy ttalk and didn't lead to anything negative. Tiki i feel bad for you man, everyone rode your nads because you played good and showed up and played the game properly. Tiki's trash talk was perfectly fine and is all in good taste, if you think he is trying to attack your personally, he isn't he is one person who plays with MATURITY. If there was any bad trash going on, it would be me and my non-stop Tbag fest on guardian :p

#3 FOR KYLE: GREAT TOURNEY! Thank you so much for putting this on and making it a great first event for me. You and your PGL crew did a hell of a good job. And Kyle I am begging you please ban the flamers and prevent them from coming to the future events. I personally do not want to go to a tourney that could be the location of an assault. PLEASE PLEASE take some action.

OK guys im back here, i just finished cleaning up and then we had a meeting about the next tournament already...... RidersAddiction is going to clean up the forums here because they have gotten out of hand.......
HoeZ will be dealt with for sure, I am going to have a talk with him and Riders has his number as well........ threatening stabbing and physical abuse is not only really rude but against the law, I think I will personally contact Hoez ...

First and foremost I have to say that the T.V.s (some of them) were very slow and frustrating to play on during the FFA. Although as far as I could tell all this was resolved in time for Saturday only problem being a few T.V.s had really stretched out picture, but by Sunday everything was perfect.

I've gotta say that it was an awesome tourney (BTW nice shirts, good price too.) With an excellent canteen haha. I really liked the double elimination set-up and I found that all the players were extremely kind in all aspects as well as the staff, which was quite helpful.

As for the PGL Gametypes/Maps/Rules:

FFA Guardian spawns were fun when you got a double kill assassination, but otherwise weren't that great.

Things like the wormhole ledge on Isolation were abused, I won't name names, but it did occur.

Some people were smart enough to leave their controllers on, someone hit the guide button on my team mates screen during one game (didn't affect the outcome)

All in all I have to say that I will be wearing my sexy new PGL shirt with pride (Thank God for a Regina tourney, and another one in Saskatoon!!!) and hope to head down to EB Games or The Matrix and spread the word. BTW if PGL can get up and running fast enough in enough places with online tournaments it might just trump MLG Canada which seems to be at a standstill.

Congratulations Kyle and all of PGL, not to mention Tiki and Simplifi (I heard they won) and good luck in the future.

Wow i cant agree more with dan on this one wow like its so true MLG Canada is reallly doin nothing for the canadian gaming community we need to do all of us a big favour spread the word go on the MLG Canada forums and flood it with how well PGL tourny just went for the first one like this can crush MLG Can if we get the word so lets all do this for own benefit let Canada know we have a true gaming league now not some half ass job like MLG Canada was

Yea it so stuped. When you buy the better xbox 360 you should get one of each. most people getting the better box don't have them I just picked one up and they are so much lighter than the wirless no battery pack.

This was the first ever tournament Ive participated in, and I had a blast! Id like to personally thank everyone who worked to make this happen, and i will do my best to try and participate in future PGL events.

With tournaments every month i'm sure you would get tons of use out of it haha. Our first issue is trying to get the xboxs from customs before we talk about controllers.
